Deconstructed Face

Just a quick weekend drawing. I was mainly trying out some new art supplies I bought in Tokyo earlier this year. I'm really happy with the quality of the pens, especially the extrafine ones. I've never used a 005 pen before but it's surprisingly easy to use, at least for simple lines and dots like this. It's definitely something I'll use a lot more.

The brightness on the picture is a probably a bit high, which obscures some of the smaller dots - something to avoid for future pieces.

Art of Medicine Exhibition 2015

I recently had the opportunity to be involved with Doctors’ Health SA's Art of Medicine exhibition at the Adelaide Central School of Art. It was the first time my work has been publicly exhibited since I was in school, which was exciting but also a little daunting. Fortunately people were very kind; there was a definite lack of audible derision and even some positive feedback. I included four pieces, shown below, which I deliberately marked as 'not for sale' as I plan to expand the series in future with the aim of exhibited them all together. I have already completed a couple of other related works, however I felt their inclusion would have detracted from the overall feel of this set.

I'm keen to hear people's thoughts, good or bad but preferably constructive!
